***What
Should I Wear?
*For Children:
Anything from “Sunday Best”, to a
party outfit, formal dress/suit or Pageant
wear. Any
length.
*For Teens:
A nice dress or outfit is fine.
This could include a cocktail dress,
formal dress or a Pageant dress/gown. Any length.
*We
advise arriving at least 1/2 an hour before the
Pageant to check in. Doors open at 9:00 a.m.
*Arrive "dressed" so you
don’t have to compete for space to
get ready.
***Should
I Go “Natural” Or “Glitz”?
This
question pertains mostly to younger
contestants.
The answer is the same as above –
Anything goes!
The judges come
from a variety of backgrounds.
They know that some contestants will
be very “glitzy” and some will be
“natural”, and that many will be
first-timers.
They judge each contestant
accordingly - on their own merit, based
on how that contestant appears and how they
carry themselves.
(Not how they or their attire
compares to the next contestant.)
There is no one certain “look”
the judges are looking for.
*This is your time to shine and to
look how you want to look!
***Photogenic
Pictures
Pictures
will be available to be picked up after the
Pageant.
***Photographs
And Video
We
must insist that during the Competition, no
flash photos be taken while anyone is
onstage.
We also cannot allow video during the
Pageant.
Press and Media will be on hand
televising/taking photos. *Reasons For No Flash And Video: 1.) Flash cameras bother the contestants’ eyes,
especially young children while on a stage
they’re unfamiliar with.
2.) As this is a Pageant and
the event features several contestants, we
must try to control the use of any photos
and/or video taken of the event.
Photos and video of the Pageant will
be supplied to/by television stations and
newspapers.
3.)
When flash photos are taken and
create additional “flashes of light”,
the professional photographer’s and the
media’s photos and videos can come out
blank and the pictures of the day are ruined
for everyone.
However,
please feel free to take photographs
away from the stage or during breaks.
